The classic version of this perfume was crafted by perfumer Ernest Beaux in 1921 at the request of Coco Chanel. The couturier chose the fifth sample of the composition, known for its expressive, full-bodied, and feminine aldehyde-floral notes. In 1986, perfumer Jacques Polge reimagined the classic version in an eau de parfum, adding a bright citrus chord to the opening olfactory melody.
