All of this is to showcase the natural beauty of one of the most legendary ingredients in perfumery—Indonesian oud. This rare resinous wood has been revered for centuries for its complex and contradictory scent, capable of evoking smoke, leather, spices, earth, and even animalistic notes simultaneously. This intricate layering forms the heart of the Notorious Oud eau de parfum by D.S. & Durga. Perfumer David Seth Moltz shares his own rare oud with the world, which he has managed to source.

Top Noteopens with the sharp green breath of white galbanum, immediately creating a sense of raw resin and broken stems. Camphor adds a cool medicinal smokiness, while saffron gradually warms everything with its dry, spicy heat.

Heart Notecombines dark Bulgarian rose, herbaceous and cool lavender, and rich Indonesian oud. The precious wood unites these ingredients into a deep resinous-woody tapestry with smoky and animalistic nuances.

Base Noteresonates with rough papyrus, reminiscent of ancient scrolls or dried stems by the water. Warm Cetalox supports it with a transparent amber smoothness, while civet adds magnetic animalistic tones.
