MeLuna is the first brand of menstrual cups made in Germany. They are cost-effective and environmentally friendly compared to menstrual pads or tampons. Menstrual cups are compact in size and are considered sanitary-hygienic products for women. They are made from latex, silicone, or, in the case of MeLuna menstrual cups, from high-quality thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). Before using the cup for the first time, sterilize it by boiling in water for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to wash your hands with soap beforehand. Fold the cup. There are different folding techniques you can try, so feel free to experiment and choose the one that suits you best. Insert the folded cup and allow it to expand inside the vagina. Once inserted, the cup will open with a distinctive suction or popping sound, indicating that it is correctly positioned. If you’re unsure, feel the base of the cup—it should be round or oval when properly inserted. If you notice any dents or folds, the cup hasn’t fully expanded. Gently hold the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once it’s in place, gently tug on the stem. If you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is successfully positioned!
