1. Boil water and pour it into a glass container. Allow the water to cool to approximately 70 degrees Celsius, then submerge the entire rail in the water for a maximum of 30 seconds.

2. Carefully remove the rail from the water and wait about 2–4 seconds for it to cool down slightly. This will make the rail warm but not hot enough to burn your lips or tongue.

3. Gently place the rail onto your upper or lower dental arch. Use your tongue to press the rail against your teeth to remove saliva, then carefully adjust the rail to fit your teeth and gums with your fingers.

4. After about 1-2 minutes of gentle adjustment, remove the rail from your mouth and place it in cold water for at least 2 minutes. Once cooled, the rail will retain its shape and be ready for use.

If you feel any discomfort or pressure, you can trim the excess material from the rail with a knife or scissors. If the rail does not fit properly, you can repeat the above procedure.
