In 2010, the niche brand Roja Parfums introduced a new fragrance, Aoud, which exudes luxury on both men’s and women’s skin. It was created by the brilliant perfumer Roja Dove, who found himself irresistibly drawn to Middle Eastern perfumery. In this fragrance, the aoud is sublimated into bakhoor, a tradition in Muslim countries. The perfume house describes it as “exotic, mysterious sensuality.”

This rich scent belongs to the Oriental-spicy category. It opens with the freshness of bergamot, lemon, and lemon verbena. The heart unfolds a bouquet of ylang-ylang, Rose de Mai, and Grasse jasmine.
