The year 2021 marked the 1600th anniversary of Venice, Italy’s most romantic city, and the release of the extraordinary fragrance Rubeus Milano Evonimo. These two events are not coincidentally linked. In celebration of the beloved city’s birthday, the Italian perfume house introduced a new collection of four fragrances, with Rubeus Milano Evonimo being the most striking among them.

This fragrance is dedicated to the spindle tree, a beautiful plant with reddish leaves, reminiscent of the bottle’s color. However, from the very first encounter, there is a certain dissonance, as the scent does not seem red or warm, but rather green. The top notes of galbanum, tart blackcurrant, and fresh mandarin energetically open the composition. Then, chypre-fougere motifs emerge, followed by woody-aldehydic ones.

Indeed, the perfume is so whimsical and ever-changing that each stage of its unfolding surprises. The heart notes are dominated by wood, harmoniously complemented by elegant jasmine and sweet tonka beans. In the very end, like a sparkling jewel, Madagascan vanilla appears, surrounded by warm amber.
