The brand Chesapeake Bay Candle was founded in 1994 by Mei Xu and David Wang, who, with the support of friends and family, began crafting handmade candles in the basement of their home in Annapolis, Maryland. The choice of name is a tribute to the neighboring Chesapeake Bay.
